A Road Map of Life

"Read your Bible
Pray every day
and you'll grow, grow, grow..."

Sometimes we get so tired of the cliches, we get sick of people, especially the religious folk, telling us what to do...like 'READ YOUR BIBLE!!!' *waving the Bible in hand or beating someones head with it*...no wonder we have such a push back when we hear it. It's like we know we should but because it has been shoved down our throats we regurgitate the whole idea...It's like so many of us have not even had a chance to CHOOSE that for ourselves.

Oh how we have misused and corrupted the significance and immeasurable power of the Word of God...God does not operate in the way that people do. In fact, He says "My ways are not your ways, My thoughts are not your thoughts"...the way that the religion presents God and how people who are operating under that religious spirit represent Him is so far from the truth of Who He really is...

I am not here today to TELL you to "READ YOUR BIBLE!".

Not at all...I just wanted to share with you what the written Word of God is to me...God gave us a life, He breathed life into you and me and He has the most perfect design for everything, because He created it.

I remember when I went to Europe and visited Rome and France...I was traveling by myself and wanted to visit all the interesting places. In order to do that I had to use a map, without it I would have been lost, I would have probably wandered around and saw some cool things, but missed all the best attractions. But instead, with the help of the map I got to see the Vatican City in Rome and the Eiffel Tower in Paris - some of the wonders of the world!)
It was incredible!

Our lives are like that...the Bible is like a map, and we need it if we want to hit all the most incredible sights and have the best experiences that this life has to offer. God, the author of our life, gave us that map so that we would not miss out on life but live it ABUNDANTLY!

Are you wandering without direction? Are you living your life settling for somewhat-interesting-experiences but mostly are bored with life and wonder when is the fun part going to happen? When will there be compete fulfilment and enjoyment?

Maybe this is a good enough reason for you to CHOOSE to open the road map of your life and let the Holy Spirit direct your steps to the Eiffel Tower of your life! God wants you to enjoy Him and the life HE has for you, so go to Him and ask Him to take you there. Christ made this possible, take the opportunity, before it is too late. He gave us the blue print for life, a map and the Holy Spirit that would never lead us astray...

...and for that I am thankful...

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

~ Hebrews 4:12-13

  1. Thank you for sharing, and definitely thank you for the scripture verse "Hebrews 4: 12-13"; I never heard nor read the entire verse before. That gave me a better understanding of the depths that Jesus goes through to create a road map for us.

Sometimes we as people play pretend, and justify directions we wish to impose in ourselves and try to use the thought of "ignorance being bliss", however most of the time we are not IGNORANT but FOOLING OURSELVES INTENTIONALLY. The fact that we indeed as believers acknowledge the Holy Spirit within us, that His Word dwells within us and IS "...SHARPER THAN ANY TWO EDGED SWORD, PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVISION OF SOUL AND SPIRIT, AND OF JOINT AND MARROW, AND IS A DISCERNER OF THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS OF THE HEART..." would mean that we believe God has a perfect plan/map already set for our lives. And we as Christians know this, and we know how to understand more into this even if we are genuinely confused. It is the fight that we deny the FLESH and LISTEN to the Spirit of God that strives to develop us fully and without confusion.

  2. Thanks again for the comment, Naveen. I appreciate your insight, it is very motivating. I remember when the Word of God was not what it is to me. I struggled with finding the balance in the way I viewed it, going from being intimidated by it, to viewing it as a mere rule book, to questioning its credibility, to finally recognising that the Word of God is a part of His plan and God gave is the blueprint to test every spirit and truth against His Truth. The blueprint itself is not the house, as God's Word in not God Himself, but without the blueprint it's impossible to construct the proper ways of thinking, we cannot expect to have a full understanding of His design and His plan without the foundations of His Word. I believe God has so much more to say, but He will never go against His Word. This is why I believe He gave us the starting point go reference for what He wants to build upon, unlocking more of the hidden truths by the power of the Holy Spirit, It is not possible, and may I say dangerous, to rely on our own understanding when we interpret Scripture. I also believe that the way He wrote it and the reason why we have the final selection of the books compiled in the Bible is because He has His hand on it and He is the one overseeing and protecting His Word to make sure that we get the essence of what He desires for us to build our knowledge and understanding upon.
